"May It Be To Me As You Have Said"

Luke 1:38

""I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her."

Thoughts: I love this statement of Mary when the angel told her that the Holy Spirit would come upon her and the power of the Most High would overshadow her and that she would bear the Son of God and that her relative Elizabeth would also be pregnant even if she was said to be barren.

"May it be to me as you have said." Wow, Mary didnt even say anything negative about what would happen to her. What about her reputation? What about the things people would say? And how come she would be pregnant.....she was still a virgin? That would be impossible. But she just agreed to what the angel told her and said, "May it be to me as you have said." She also agreed to the angel's statement that nothing is impossible with God (verse 37).

You may not have the same situation with Mary but maybe you are doubting that God could do the impossible things for you. You may be suffering from sickness and the doctors said, there's no more hope for your sickness to be healed, but what does God say in his word? One of God's promises says, "Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."

If God said he is our healer, the best response is, " May it be to me as you have said." If God said, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future " (Jeremiah 29:11), like Mary, i will definitely say, " May it be to me what you have said."

If God said, "The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom " (Deuteronomy 28:11), just agree to what God said and say, "May it be to me as you have said."

God may have promised something personal to you during your prayer time, it may be impossible in your thinking but with God there's no impossible, so just tell God, "May it be to me as you have said." Those promises may be said in the past and it's not yet happening, but when God made a promise, he fulfills it, so just tell God, "May it be to me as you have said."

These are just some verses how God fulfills his promises:

God will not leave you until he has done what he has promised you (Genesis 28:15).

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19).

Not one of all the LORD's good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. (Joshua 21:45; 23:14).

The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, just as he had promised him.(1 Kings 5:12)

Even his promise to Solomon that he would succeed his father as a King was fulfilled and just as the Lord has promised, he was the one who built the temple for the name of the Lord . (1 Kings 8:20)

Solomon testified that God has kept His promise to David his father and  with God's mouth He has promised and with his hand He has fulfilled it.(1 Kings 8:24).

God even said to Jeremiah, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled." (Jeremiah 1:12)

Just like how God fulfilled his promises to the people in the Bible, God would do the same to you. When he promised something, he would make sure that it would be fulfilled. He is watching that his word is fulfilled and every promise he has made to you won't fail. If there is someone you need to give your full trust to, it should be God. If there is a promise you need to believe in, it should be God's word. God is faithful. May it be to you as God has said.

Have a great day!
